At first glance, the titles within the BC_Native Collection can feel confronting. No Love. No Hope. No Truth. No Freedom. No Connection. The repetition of the word "No" appears negative, almost pessimistic.

But the collection was never created to focus on what is lost. It was created to draw attention to what is missing.

Each artwork explores a quality that humanity continues to struggle with — connection, balance, truth, belonging, hope, freedom and understanding. The word "No" acts as a signal, highlighting the growing gap between the world we have built and the values we need to move forward together. This idea extends beyond the titles and into the visual language itself. Repeated X forms, circles interrupted by structure and layers of disruption appear throughout the collection, subtly reinforcing absence, division and disconnection. Rather than offering answers, the works invite reflection. What happens when love becomes conditional? When truth becomes manipulated? When connection is replaced by distraction? When history is forgotten?

Together, the collection forms a broader commentary on modern culture and the systems, behaviours and beliefs that shape it. While each work stands independently, they are connected by a common question: what are we losing as we continue to progress? The titles are intentionally simple because the ideas themselves are universal. Every viewer brings their own experiences, beliefs and interpretations into the work.

Ultimately, the "No" is not about absence. It is about possibility. By recognising what is missing, we create the opportunity to rebuild it. Through art, conversation and connection, the collection encourages people to reflect on what matters most and how we might move towards a more connected future.
